Alright, so I tried that CBS Pick ‘Em Pool thing this year. It sounded like a blast when I first heard about it. Basically, you pick the winners of NFL games each week, and if you’re good, you can win some cash. I figured, “Hey, I watch a lot of football, I should be pretty decent at this, right?”
So, I signed up on the CBS Sports website. It was pretty straightforward, you just need an account and all that. Then, I joined a pool with a bunch of my buddies. We all chipped in like ten bucks or something, you know, just to make it interesting. Winner takes all, classic stuff.
First few weeks, I was actually doing okay! I picked most of the games right. I was feeling pretty confident, like, “Maybe I’m a natural at this!” I was even leading the pool for a little bit. It was fun to trash-talk with my friends about it, you know, the usual.

I tried to do some “research,” you know, reading articles online about the teams and stuff. But honestly, it just confused me more. Everyone has a different opinion, and it’s hard to know who to believe. Plus, who has time to do all that?
By the end of the season, I was pretty much at the bottom of the pool. My buddies were giving me a hard time, but it was all in good fun. I lost my ten bucks, but hey, it was worth it for the entertainment, I guess. And for that one week on top! Felt great.
