Okay, so I’ve been seeing all this talk online lately about AEW, All Elite Wrestling, possibly going out of business. And honestly, it got me a little worried. I mean, I’m a big fan of AEW. It’s like, my favorite wrestling show, you know? So, I decided to do a little digging of my own to see what’s really going on.

First, I checked out some news articles and wrestling blogs. Yeah, there were some things that were a little concerning. Like, I read that this show called “Rampage” might not be around after 2025. That’s a bummer because I kind of like that show. It’s no “Dynamite,” but it’s still wrestling, right?
Then I dove into some of the financial stuff. It’s all kind of confusing, but I gathered that AEW made a good chunk of change in 2022, like over 100 million dollars. But who knows how much of that they actually kept, you know? And apparently, their viewership numbers haven’t been the best lately, especially with other big events like the Olympics going on. People are always saying stuff like the company is going down, or that the show was not good etc. It made me wonder if there is some truth to it.
I also looked at some comments from wrestling “experts.” There was this one guy, Dave Meltzer, who seems to know a lot about this stuff. He was talking about the future of AEW and mentioned that “Rampage” thing I was talking about. Some other guy was saying it’s basically a 50/50 shot whether AEW will make a comeback or not. Not exactly reassuring, huh?
My Thoughts After Digging
- Worry Level: Initially, I was pretty freaked out. But after looking into it, I’m a little less panicked. It’s not like they’re shutting down tomorrow.
- Main Takeaway: AEW is definitely going through some rough times. The ratings aren’t great, there’s some drama behind the scenes, and people are always criticizing the storylines. I mean, if you watched the last show, it was pretty obvious, right?
- Hopeful Sign: They did make a lot of money in 2022. That’s gotta count for something, right? And they are making a move to Max, which could be huge for them. Plus, TNA is also doing great, and we all know WWE won’t go down. The problem is all of these drama and backstage issues, if these can be solved, then AEW should have no problem.
So, will AEW go out of business? Honestly, I don’t think so, at least not anytime soon. But they definitely need to step up their game. They gotta get those ratings up, make the storylines better, and maybe get some new exciting wrestlers. I’m still gonna watch and hope for the best. I really want them to succeed! After all, who else is going to give WWE a run for their money?
