So, you know how these things go. I heard it was Kershaw Bobblehead Night, and man, I just knew I had to be there. Been a fan for ages, and getting a good bobblehead, especially of a legend like him, it’s just one of those things you gotta do if you get the chance.

Getting Myself Sorted
First thing, I checked the calendar, made sure I was free. Cleared the whole evening, told the family I was on a mission. Getting tickets wasn’t too bad this time, thankfully. Sometimes it’s a real scramble, you know? But I snagged a decent seat. My thinking was, I’m going for the bobblehead, but I might as well enjoy the game too, right?
The day finally arrived. I was pretty excited, not gonna lie. I dug out my lucky Dodgers cap, the one that’s a bit faded but feels just right. Didn’t go too crazy with the gear, just enough to show some spirit. Made sure my phone was charged – gotta take pics of the bobblehead, obviously!
The Stadium Adventure
Headed out to the stadium a bit earlier than usual. You have to for these giveaway nights. If you stroll in late, forget about it, all the good stuff will be gone. The traffic was, well, traffic. What else is new? But there was a good buzz, you could feel it. Lots of folks in blue, everyone heading the same way.
Parking was the usual adventure, found a spot eventually. Then the walk to the gates. I always like that part, seeing all the fans, hearing the chatter. It just builds up the excitement.
The Main Event: Getting the Bobblehead!
Okay, so this was the moment of truth. Got through security, and then you see the lines. There’s always a specific gate or area for the giveaways. The line for Kershaw? Huge. I mean, it snaked way back. But everyone was pretty cool, patient. We were all there for the same reason. Made some small talk with the folks around me, comparing previous bobblehead hauls, that sort of thing.
Moved up, bit by bit. It felt like it took forever, but then, there I was. Handed over my ticket, and the person just smiled and handed me the box. That simple exchange, but man, it feels good. You got the prize!
- Felt the weight of the box – always a good sign.
- Gave it a little shake. Securely packed, good.
I couldn’t wait, so I found a little spot just out of the main flow of people and carefully opened it up. And there he was! Clayton Kershaw, mid-pitch, looking focused. They actually did a pretty good job on this one. Sometimes these things can look a bit… off, you know? But this one? Thumbs up. The details on the uniform, the stance, it was all pretty solid.
Game Time and Heading Home
Found my seat, got my bobblehead tucked away safely in my bag. Watched the game, cheered a bit, enjoyed the atmosphere. To be honest, the game itself is almost secondary on nights like these. The main victory was already secured, sitting right there in my bag.
After the game, headed home. Tired, but that good kind of tired. Unpacked Mr. Kershaw and found a prime spot for him on the shelf with my other collectibles. He looks good up there.
Yeah, these bobblehead nights, they’re just fun. A bit of effort, sure, but totally worth it for a cool piece of memorabilia and just being part of the whole experience. Definitely glad I went.
