So, I found myself with a bit of free time the other day, and the weather wasn’t too bad, so I figured, why not dust off the clubs? I’d heard a little about a spot over in Bridgeton, Berry Hill, I think it was. Decided to give it a shot.

Getting There and First Look
The drive over wasn’t too complicated. Found the place easy enough. Pulling in, it looked like your average local golf course. Nothing super fancy, you know? But it had that feel of a place where people just come to play golf, not to show off.
Parked the car, grabbed my bag. The air felt pretty good. Always nice to get out of the house.
Hitting the Course
Went into the little building, probably the pro shop. Got myself sorted for a round. The fella behind the counter was straightforward, got me on my way quick enough. No fuss.
Stepped up to the first tee. Took a look around. It’s funny, you think about how many golf courses there are in the world. Someone told me once there are like, tens of thousands. And here I was, about to tee off on this particular one.
The course itself? It was what it was. Some holes were pretty open, let you have a good whack at it. Others, you had to be a bit more careful. Lost a ball or two, naturally. That’s just part of the game for me, ha!

Some ups and downs during the round:
- Had one drive that just went perfectly. Straight down the middle. Felt like a pro for about five seconds.
- Then, on the very next hole, I duffed one so bad it barely made it past the ladies’ tee. You gotta laugh, right? Otherwise, you’d end up like some of those guys you see practically having a meltdown on the fairway. I try to keep it light.
- The greens were… alright. Some were better than others. Fairways were playable. It wasn’t like those super manicured places you see on TV, but it was fine for a casual round.
I didn’t really pay much attention if they had a big fancy clubhouse or event center or anything like that. I was just there to swing the sticks and walk around for a few hours.
Wrapping Up the Day
Finished my 18 holes. Felt pretty decent. Got some exercise, cleared my head a bit. That’s the main thing, isn’t it?
Packed up my stuff, headed back to the car. The sun was starting to dip a bit. It was a day spent, for sure.
So, that was my little adventure over at that Bridgeton course. It’s a golf course. You hit the ball, you find the ball (mostly), and you hit it again. It served its purpose for me that day. Would I go out of my way to play there every week? Probably not. But if you’re in the area and just want a no-frills round of golf, it’s there. It’s a place to play, and sometimes that’s all you need.
