- Still Hungry: They’re winning stuff, sure. Leagues, cups. But the one big shadow is that elusive Champions League trophy for City. Fans reckon he’s got unfinished business there. He wants to be the guy who finally wins it for City. That itch still needs scratching, even after all this time.
- No Better Offer, Honestly?: This was the cynical take, but a common one. Where else could he go right now that offers what City does? Money, control, world-class squad ready-made for his style… Maybe some national teams, but seems he’s not ready for that yet. Club football is his thing.
I kept going back to the fan chats over days. Took notes, honestly felt like a weird hobby for a bit! Then, just last weekend, I met up with this guy at a pub – friend of a friend, total City nut who somehow sometimes gets snippets of inside info through people working near the club. Wasn’t expecting much, but over a pint, he leaned in and said:

That clicked. Put all the forum stuff together with that little nugget. It’s a perfect storm for him. Stability off the pitch. Total control on the pitch. A squad he built. Family happy. And yeah, that final mountain to climb in Europe. Why leave when everything’s custom-built for his brain? He’d be mad to walk away from that. Simple as that.
