Alright, let me tell you about my time checking out the Toulon Putters for 2023. I’d been hearing some chatter about them, you know how it is on the course, guys talking about new gear. So, I figured I needed to see what the fuss was about myself.

I finally got a chance to get my hands on a few of them down at the local pro shop a while back. They had a decent little putting green set up, which was perfect. Didn’t want to just waggle them in the air, needed to actually roll some balls.
Getting a Feel for Them
First thing I noticed, they look pretty slick. Real clean lines, nice finish. I picked up a couple of different head shapes. I think one was that classic blade style, maybe the San Diego? And another one was a bit chunkier, more of a mallet type. Can’t recall the exact name right now, maybe the Atlanta or something similar.
- The Blade: Felt really traditional, like you’d expect. Good feedback in the hands when you hit the ball. You knew right away if you struck it pure or not.
- The Mallet: This one felt a bit more stable, definitely more forgiving if your stroke isn’t perfect every time. Easier to line up for me, personally.
Rolling Putts on the Green
Spent a good twenty minutes just rolling putts from different distances. The thing that really stood out to me was the face. They have this diamond pattern milled onto it. Sounds fancy, but what I actually felt was the ball coming off really nicely. Seemed to get a good, consistent roll almost immediately, less skidding than my old putter.
The weight felt good too. Not too heavy, not too light. Just felt balanced when I took it back and through. Made it easy to get a smooth tempo going, which is half the battle, right?
Sound was decent too. Not a loud ‘ping’ but more of a softer, solid ‘thud’. I prefer that, makes it feel like the ball isn’t jumping off the face too hot.

Overall Thoughts
So, yeah, I walked away pretty impressed. They definitely feel like premium putters. The look, the feel off the face, the balance – it all seemed really solid. I didn’t end up buying one that day, gotta stick to the budget you know, but they are definitely on my radar if I decide to upgrade later this year.
If you’re in the market for a new putter and like that high-end feel and look, I’d say give the 2023 Toulon line a serious look. Go roll a few putts yourself, see how they feel in your hands. That’s the only way to really know, right? Just sharing what I found when I tried them out.
