So last Tuesday my cousin calls me outta nowhere asking if I knew how to get to Millview Park. Said his kid’s soccer game got moved there last minute. I’m like “Mill-what-now?” Honestly thought he was messing with me at first. Figured since I was free, why not actually go find this place myself and help the guy out?

My Dumb First Attempt
Grabbed my phone and just typed “Millview Park” straight into Maps. Deadass got three different dots scattered across town. One near the old shopping mall, one by the highway, and one beside that sketchy industrial area. Zero reviews on any of ’em. Felt like I was playing pin the tail on the donkey blindfolded.
Decided to gamble on the highway spot. Drove twenty minutes sweating in traffic only to find… yeah, just a sad little patch of grass by an off-ramp. Not a swing set or soccer field in sight. Even my GPS looked embarrassed.
Asking Actual Humans (Shocking, I Know)
Stopped at that gas station with the giant coffee cups painted on the wall. Asked the cashier if he knew Millview Park. Dude just blinked slowly like I asked him to explain quantum physics. “Nah man,” he goes, “new park maybe?”
Then remembered Martha from book club lives near the west side. Texted her: “HELP. WHERE IS MILLVIEW PARK?? SOS EMOTIONAL DAMAGE.”
Her reply was gold:

- “Oh honey it’s BEHIND the new community center on Elm!”
- “Signs are garbage though.”
- “Look for the ugly blue dumpsters near the tennis courts – park entrance is just past those.”
The Final Trek
Plugged in the community center instead. Green buses from downtown drop you right outside it. For drivers: Parking lot entrance is kinda hidden behind some pine trees on Oak Street – almost missed it twice.
Walked around the whole dang community center building first like an idiot. Saw the blue dumpsters Martha mentioned (yup, real ugly). Pushed past some overgrown bushes next to them and bam – wide open park with two soccer fields.
No More Wild Goose Chases
So here’s the cheat code: Don’t search just “Millview Park”. Either navigate to “Elm Street Community Center” or use the corner of Oak & Elm. If you see a sad little blue dumpster family, you’ve hit the jackpot – walk past those bad boys. Park’s tucked right behind.
Told my cousin and guess what? His kid scored a goal there Saturday. Saved him a morning of frustrated screaming at his phone. Felt like a dang superhero. Moral of the story? Sometimes technology needs a little old-school human backup.
