Whats your favourite time of the year? Lets discuss!

Alright folks, let me tell you about my favourite time of the year and what I do to make the most of it. You know, that feeling when the air gets crisp, the leaves start turning, and everything just feels…cozy? Yeah, that’s it.

It all starts with planning. I grabbed my calendar and blocked out a couple of weekends. No work, no errands, just pure autumnal bliss. First thing I did was hit up the local farmers market. Pumpkins, gourds, apples galore! I loaded up my car like I was prepping for a siege. Seriously, I think the vendor thought I was opening my own pumpkin patch.

Next up, baking. I’m no pro baker, mind you. I usually end up with a kitchen covered in flour and a few slightly burnt cookies, but hey, it’s the effort that counts, right? I decided to tackle an apple pie. Found a recipe online, followed it (mostly), and ended up with something that tasted vaguely like apple pie. Not pretty, but edible. My kids loved it… or at least they pretended to.

Then came the decorating. I went full-on fall fanatic. Pumpkins on the porch, a wreath on the door, those little gourds scattered everywhere. I even hung up some fairy lights. My house looked like a Pinterest board exploded in the best way possible. My neighbour even commented on how festive it looked, which, let’s be honest, made my day.

Of course, no autumn is complete without a good bonfire. I piled up some fallen branches and leaves in the backyard (safely away from the house, of course – don’t want to burn the place down). Lit it up, roasted some marshmallows, and told some spooky stories. My voice went all gravely for effect – totally worth it.

And finally, the cozy nights in. I brewed a big pot of hot chocolate, wrapped myself in a blanket, and watched a cheesy Halloween movie. Pure, unadulterated relaxation. I even managed to finish a book I’d been putting off for months.

It’s simple stuff, really, but these are the things that make this time of year so special for me. It’s about slowing down, appreciating the small things, and creating some lasting memories. I’m already looking forward to next year!
