Today, I wanted to capture a picture of a red card. You know, the kind that referees use in sports games to show that a player’s done something bad and has to leave the game. I figured it’d be a simple enough thing to do, so I started by trying to find a red card around the house.
First, I searched through all my old board games and sports stuff. I rummaged through boxes in the attic and dug through drawers, but no luck. I couldn’t find a single red card anywhere. It was turning out to be more challenging than I thought.
Next, I thought, maybe I could just make one myself. I found some red paper, the kind we used to use for craft projects. I carefully cut it into a rectangle, roughly the size of a playing card. It looked the part, but it was a bit flimsy.
To make it sturdier, I decided to glue it onto some cardboard. I found an old cereal box and cut out a piece the same size as the red paper. Then, I carefully glued the paper onto the cardboard. It was working out pretty well.
Once the glue dried, I held it up and took a few pictures. It wasn’t a real red card, but it looked good enough in the photos. I even experimented with different backgrounds and lighting to get the best shot.
Outcome
