Alright, let me tell you about what I got up to today, messing around with this concept I’ve been calling ‘chances home world’ in my head. It’s not super defined, more like exploring potential setups or directions for a personal little project space.
Starting Out Simple
So, I decided no computers today. Felt like I needed something more hands-on. Dug out a big notepad, the kind with slightly yellow pages, you know? And a couple of basic pens. Spread it all out on the old desk. The goal wasn’t to build anything concrete, but just to see the different ‘what ifs’.
I basically just started sketching. Put a blob in the center, called it ‘Current State’. Then, I just let my mind wander. What’s the first possibility? Drew an arrow, wrote down a keyword. What’s another path? Drew another arrow. Honestly, it felt a bit random at first. Just getting thoughts out of my head and onto the paper.
Trying to Find Some Structure
After a while, the page was getting pretty full. Lots of arrows, some notes, a few question marks where I wasn’t sure. It was less of a map and more of a brainstorm splatter. Needed to bring some order to it, otherwise, it’s just noise, right?
So, I tried grouping related ideas. Used a different pen color for different themes that started showing up.
- Maybe one color for stuff I could start right now.
- Another color for things that needed more thinking or resources.
- And a third for the really out-there, ‘maybe someday’ kind of chances.
Doing this helped clean it up visually. I could see connections I missed before. Like how one ‘needs resources’ idea could actually lead to one of the ‘start now’ ideas if I tweaked it a bit. It wasn’t about making decisions, just seeing the links.
Wrapping Up (For Now)
Didn’t really come to any grand conclusions. That wasn’t the point today. But I feel like I have a better grasp of the different potentials floating around this ‘home world’ idea. The notepad page is pinned up on the wall now. Something to glance at.
It was a good exercise. Felt productive, even though the outcome is just a messy page of notes and arrows. It’s progress in its own way. Got me thinking about the next practical steps instead of just having it all swirl around in my brain. We’ll see which ‘chance’ I pick up next time.
