So, I was thinking about The Walking Dead the other day, just kinda reminiscing about different characters and stuff. The name Joshua Mikel popped into my head, or maybe I saw it mentioned somewhere online, I can’t quite recall exactly how it started.

Anyway, I decided to look into it a bit. My first thought was, “Who did this guy play again?” The name sounded familiar but wasn’t immediately clicking like Rick or Daryl, you know?
Digging into the Roles
I did a quick search, just typed his name and the show. Found out pretty fast he played Jared. Ah, right! That Savior guy. The one who was a real piece of work, always antagonizing people at the Kingdom, especially Morgan. Yeah, definitely remembered him once I saw the name Jared connected to Joshua Mikel.
But then I saw something else interesting. It said he also played a walker. That kinda caught my attention. Like, not just his character turning into a walker, but credited separately as playing a walker too. I thought that was kinda neat. Makes sense, I guess. They need a lot of walker actors, probably use main cast or recurring guys sometimes when they need someone specific or maybe just fill in the horde.
- First, confirmed the Jared role. Definitely him.
- Then, noticed the separate walker credit.
- Made me wonder how often that happens on the show.
It’s funny how you can get names mixed up too. For a second, I was thinking about that guy Lance Hornsby from the Commonwealth storyline. But then I realized, nope, that’s a different actor, Josh Hamilton. Similar first name, both Josh, both on the show. Easy mistake to make if you’re just casually thinking about it.
Wrapping Up My Thoughts
So yeah, that was my little dive into Joshua Mikel and The Walking Dead. Just started with a name and ended up clarifying who he played. He was Jared, the annoying Savior, and apparently also suited up as a walker at some point. Always interesting to find these little bits of behind-the-scenes info when you start digging around a bit about a show you like.
