So, I finally got around to playing Tamaya Golf Course the other day. Been meaning to check it out for a while now.

Getting there was pretty simple. Just followed the signs once I got close. Pulled into the parking lot, wasn’t too crowded which was nice. I walked over to the clubhouse area to get things started. It had a nice, sort of relaxed feel to it, not too stuffy.
I went inside the pro shop to pay for my round and get my cart key. The folks behind the counter were helpful, got me checked in without any fuss. I decided to skip the driving range this time and just head straight out. Loaded up my bag onto the cart, grabbed a scorecard, and made my way to the first tee.
Playing the Course
Right off the bat, the course looked pretty interesting. Seemed like a decent layout. The starter gave a few tips and sent me off. The fairways were in pretty good shape, maybe a few dry spots here and there, but nothing major. The greens were rolling okay, maybe a touch slow for my liking, but consistent.
Played through the front nine at a steady pace. Some holes were definitely more challenging than others. I remember one par 3 over water that really made me think about club selection. Found a couple of bunkers, which is pretty standard for my game, unfortunately. Had to really work to get out of one on hole 7.
Things I noticed during the round:

- The views were quite nice, especially from some of the elevated tees. You could see quite a distance.
- It wasn’t overly crowded, which made for a relaxed pace.
- The course requires some thought; you can’t just blast away with the driver on every hole.
- Cart paths were mostly fine, a bit bumpy in spots.
The back nine felt a bit tougher, maybe I was just getting tired. The wind picked up a little too, which always adds another layer. I managed a couple of good pars, but also had my share of bogeys. The finishing holes brought you back towards the clubhouse area.
Finished up on 18, felt pretty good about the day overall. Drove the cart back to the return area, grabbed my clubs, and headed out. Didn’t stick around for food or anything this time, just wanted to get home.
All in all, it was a solid day of golf at Tamaya. A decent course, good conditions for the most part, and a pretty straightforward experience from arrival to departure. I’d definitely consider playing there again sometime.
