So, I got this weird idea the other day. I needed an image, you know, the classic Mickey Mouse character, but doing something unexpected – giving the middle finger. Yeah, I know, sounds kinda dumb, but sometimes you just get these ideas, right? Just wanted to see what it would look like, maybe for a laugh.
First thing I did was just hop online and search. Typed in exactly that: ‘mickey mouse middle finger’. Man, what a rabbit hole. Found a ton of stuff, mostly really crude drawings or bad photo edits. Some were funny, but none really had that proper, clean look I was picturing in my head. Like, something that looked like it could have been official, but obviously wasn’t. You know that old-school cartoon style?
Trying to make it myself
Okay, the quick search was a bust. So, I thought, maybe I can cobble something together myself? I’m no artist, not by a long shot, but I figured I could try. Fired up some basic image editing software I have lying around. Grabbed a normal picture of Mickey waving or something. Then I tried to find a separate cartoon glove doing the finger thing. My plan was to cut out the original hand and paste the new glove on.
Easier said than done, let me tell you. Getting the angle right, the size, the lighting (even in a cartoon sense)… it just looked fake. Really slapped together. Spent maybe an hour fiddling with layers and erasing bits, trying to blend it. Looked terrible. Scrapped that idea. My editing skills just weren’t up to snuff for this.
Then I remembered those AI things
Suddenly, I remembered all that AI image generation stuff people are messing with now. Thought, hey, why not give that a try? Found one of those online generator tools. Started typing in prompts.
- ‘Mickey Mouse giving the middle finger’ – The first results were kinda messed up. Weird proportions, distorted faces. Creepy stuff.
- ‘Classic Mickey Mouse cartoon style, flipping the bird’ – Getting a bit closer, but the style wasn’t quite right. Sometimes too modern looking.
- ‘1930s cartoon mouse, middle finger gesture, black and white’ – This started yielding better results. The black and white helped hide some weirdness.
It took a surprising amount of tries. Had to keep changing the words, adding things like ‘simple background’, ‘four-fingered glove’ (because, you know, cartoons), ‘ชัดเจน’. Sometimes the AI just wouldn’t get the finger right, it’d blend into the hand or look like a weird thumb. Other times Mickey looked way too angry or just plain bizarre.
Finally, after a good chunk of time just generating and regenerating, tweaking the prompt slightly each time, one popped up that was… pretty good, actually. It had the old-school vibe, the pose was right, and it didn’t look completely nightmarish. It wasn’t perfect, there were still some little AI quirks if you looked too close, but it captured the exact silly, slightly shocking image I had in my head. Saved that one straight away. Quite the process for such a stupid little picture, but hey, I got it done.
