Okay, so today I messed around with “firmar,” which I guess means “to sign” in Spanish? I needed to get some documents digitally signed, and I figured I’d try out whatever free options I could find.
The Hunt Begins
First, I just Googled “free document signing” and clicked on a few of the top results. Most of them seemed pretty similar – upload a document, add a signature field, and send it off. I picked one that looked clean and simple, no weird pop-ups or anything.
Uploading and Prepping
Uploaded my PDF – it was a pretty standard contract. The website loaded it up pretty quickly, no problems there. Then I had to figure out how to add the signature fields. It took a little bit of clicking around, but I found a button that said “Add Signature.”
I clicked and dragged to create a little box where I wanted the signature to go. I also added a date field, because, you know, contracts and dates.
Sending it Out
Once I had the fields all set, I typed in the recipient’s email address. The website had a little preview option, so I checked that to make sure everything looked right. Looked good, so I hit the “Send” button.
Waiting Game… and Success!
Then it was just a matter of waiting. Thankfully, the person I sent it to was pretty quick. I got an email notification a little later saying the document was signed. I logged back into the website, downloaded the signed version, and boom! Done.
My Thoughts
Overall, it was way easier than I thought it would be. I mean, I didn’t have to print anything, sign it, scan it, and email it back. I think they got a notification on their end, clicked a few buttons, and it’s all taken care of. Pretty neat. I’d definitely use this “firmar” method again, it saved me a bunch of time and hassle!
