Okay, so I kept seeing stuff about this new Victor Wembanyama logo popping up. You know, the really tall basketball kid. Naturally, I got curious, like I usually do when something new catches my eye in sports branding.
First thing I did was just look at it. Found a few pictures online, just stared at them for a bit. It’s got that alien thing going on, which makes sense, everyone calls him an alien because of his skills and size. Pretty straightforward idea there.
Trying to Sketch It Out
Then I grabbed a pencil and some scratch paper. Happens all the time, I see something, I try to draw it, see if I can figure out how it’s built. My first few tries were pretty bad, honestly. Just scribbles trying to get that alien head shape right.
I noticed how they tried to make it look like other things too. Maybe a ‘V’ or a ‘W’? Or maybe even a basketball swooshing. It’s kinda clever, trying to pack multiple ideas into one simple shape. I spent some time trying to emphasize different parts in my sketches.
- The Alien Head: This was the obvious part. Got the basic shape down after a few attempts.
- Hidden Letters?: Squinted a bit, turned my paper. Yeah, you can kinda see a ‘W’ or maybe a ‘V’ in there if you look for it. Tried drawing just that part.
- Simplicity: It felt pretty minimal. Not too many lines. That’s usually a good sign for logos, makes them easy to remember.
Figuring Out the Vibe
After doodling, I just sat back and thought about the feel of it. It definitely screams ‘unique’ and ‘otherworldly’, which fits him perfectly. It doesn’t look like your typical sports logo, maybe a bit more modern, techy? Hard to explain.
I tried simplifying it even further in my drawings. What if it was just two lines? What if the eyes were different? Just playing around, you know. Didn’t really lead anywhere specific, just helps me process the design.
So yeah, that was my little dive into it. Didn’t create anything amazing myself, just spent some time looking, sketching, and thinking about how they put that Wembanyama alien logo together. It’s definitely distinctive, gotta give them that. Passed the time, anyway.
