Okay, so I was really curious about Barney the dinosaur’s color. I mean, everyone just says he’s purple, but is he really? What kind of purple? This needed some serious investigation (at least, in my world).

Digging into Barney’s Hue
First, I grabbed my phone and opened up Google. Seemed like the obvious first step, right? I typed in “Barney the dinosaur” and hit enter. Image search, here I come!
Scrolled through tons of pictures. Yep, definitely purple. But it wasn’t just any purple. It looked…brighter than, say, a grape.
- I try different key word, like”what color is barney exactly”.
- I found some people talking about it in forms.
I tried to find any clue, there were people saying all sorts of things! Some said “magenta,” others said “violet.” One person even claimed he was “blurple” – a mix of blue and purple. Seriously? My head was starting to spin.
So I decided to get all scientific about it.
I use a color picker tool(It’s a little app on my computer). I screencapped a good, clear picture of Barney and used the color picker to, well, pick the color.

The result? Well, the color picker gave me a hex code. Most of website said that the colour of barney is magenta.
I think that pretty much settles it. Barney’s a kind of magenta. Mystery solved, I learned how to use colour picker tool today!
