Week 2 Waiver Wire: Who to Pick Up After Week One

Alright folks, buckle up! I’m diving headfirst into my week 2 waiver wire adventures. Let me tell you, it was a rollercoaster.

Week 2 Waiver Wire: Who to Pick Up After Week One

The Initial Scan: First thing Monday morning, I cracked open the waiver wire. I needed to see who dropped the ball hard enough to get themselves cut. You know, the usual suspects. Scanned for names that popped – guys with potential, even if they had a rough week one.

The Injury Report Deep Dive: Next up? Injury reports. Gotta know who went down and who’s likely to step up in their absence. This is where the gold is usually buried. Checked for any unexpected injuries that could create opportunity for backups or even practice squad call-ups.

Target Acquired: Found a running back, buried on the depth chart, but the starter tweaked his ankle. Not a major injury, but enough to potentially give this guy a chance to shine for a week or two. He was relatively unowned, so I figured he was worth a shot.

The Bid: Here’s where it gets tricky. I was hesitant. I didn’t want to blow all my FAAB (Free Agent Acquisition Budget) this early in the season. So, I placed a calculated bid – not too high, but enough to hopefully snag him. I decided to bid 8% of my FAAB. Seemed reasonable.

The Waiting Game: Tuesday night rolled around… nervously refreshed the waiver wire page, waiting for the results. The anticipation was killing me!

Success! I got him! Turns out, nobody else was as high on this guy as I was. Scooped him up for my measly 8%. Felt like a genius.

The Lineup Shuffle: Now came the fun part – figuring out where to slot him in. My RB situation wasn’t stellar, so he immediately went into my flex spot. Hoping for a solid performance.

The Week 2 Result: He actually did pretty well! Not a superstar performance, but solid points. Worth the 8% FAAB I spent.

Lesson Learned: The waiver wire is all about timing, calculated risks, and a little bit of luck. Don’t be afraid to take a chance on a player with potential, especially if there’s an injury creating an opportunity. And remember, don’t blow all your FAAB in week 2! Patience, my friends, patience.

That’s my week 2 waiver wire story. Hope it helps you with your own leagues!
