Want your own Roman Reigns lei like the champion? See where dedicated fans are getting theirs today.

So, I got this idea in my head the other day. I’ve been watching Roman Reigns for a good while now, and you know, his entrance, that red lei he wears. It’s pretty iconic. I thought, why not try to make something similar? Just a little project to see if I could.

Getting the Bits and Pieces Together

First off, I had to figure out what I’d actually need. It wasn’t too complicated, really. I went and got a few things:

  • A whole bunch of artificial red flowers. I went for some that looked kinda full, like carnations or something similar. The key was getting that deep red color.
  • Some artificial green leaves. You know, for a bit of contrast, like his usually has.
  • A good length of strong craft string. Something sturdy enough to hold it all together.
  • A decent pair of scissors.
  • And a large needle, the kind you’d use for yarn or thick thread.

Once I had all that stuff, I just laid it all out on my table. I pulled all the flower heads off their plastic stems. Most of them had a little plastic base that seemed like it would be easy enough to thread the needle through. For the leaves, I just picked out the ones that looked good and weren’t too big or too small.

Putting It All Together

Alright, so this was the main part of it. I cut a really long piece of that craft string. Probably longer than I thought I’d need, just to be safe. I doubled it up for extra strength and tied a big knot at one end. Didn’t want those flowers slipping right off, you know.

Then, I started threading. I’d poke the needle through the base of a red flower, slide it down to the knot. Then another. And another. I tried to bunch them up pretty close so it would look full. After maybe five or six red flowers, I’d thread on a couple of the green leaves. Then back to the red flowers. I just kept repeating that pattern: red flowers, then a few leaves, more red flowers.

It took a bit of time, not going to lie. Just sitting there, threading flower after flower. I tried to keep an eye on how it was looking, making sure it was dense enough. You don’t want big gaps in it. Every so often, I’d hold it up and sort of drape it to see how the length was coming along. Wanted it to hang right.

When I thought it was finally long enough – you know, long enough to look like a proper lei – I unthreaded the needle. Then I took the two ends of the string and tied them together. Made sure it was a good, solid knot. Several knots, actually. Snipped off the excess string with the scissors.

And that was pretty much it. I gave it a little fluff, adjusted some of the flowers and leaves so they were sitting nicely. Stepped back and had a look.

The Final Look

You know what? It didn’t turn out too bad. For a homemade job, I was pretty pleased. It had that Roman Reigns vibe with the red and green. It’s not something I’d wear out to the store, obviously, but as a display piece or just for the fun of making it, it was a good little project. Definitely felt like I accomplished something, making my own version of that Head of the Table lei. Acknowledge me, right? Ha. Simple stuff, but satisfying when it comes together.
