So, I got my hands on this thing called “Emerald Chip” today. You know how it is, always looking for the next shiny object in the game.

I’d heard some whispers about these chips. Apparently, they’re some kind of currency. I was like, “Currency? For what?” Well, it turns out they’re for Nightmare Incursions. It got me curious, so I did a little digging.
First, I needed to find out where to even get these Emerald Chips. Turns out, they’re a reward for doing these Nightmare Incursions in places called Feralas and the Hinterlands. Sounds easy enough, right? I jumped into a few of those incursions, and sure enough, after completing the quests, I got some of these chips. They’re also got another currency which is called “Firelands Embers”.
After collecting the Emerald Chips, I went to the vendor, but there was nothing there. I noticed that someone in the general channel mentioned that Blizzard decided to remove the use for them in later phases. It really made me confused, but I just kept it.
- Step 1: Go to Feralas or the Hinterlands.
- Step 2: Look for Nightmare Incursions.
- Step 3: Complete the quests.
- Step 4: Collect Emerald Chips as a reward.
- Step 5: Realize that they can’t be used anymore.
- Step 6: Keep the Emerald Chips.
I did some more searching online and found out that Blizzard made them stack up to 2,500. I guess that’s a good thing? At least they won’t take up too much space in my bags. There are also some people talking about restoring deleted Emerald Chips. I’m not sure why anyone would want to do that since they’re not used for anything anymore.
Anyway, that’s my Emerald Chip adventure for today. It was a bit of a letdown to find out they’re not useful, but at least I learned something new. And maybe they’ll have a use again in the future. Who knows? Until then, I’ll just keep them in my bag as a reminder of this little journey.
