So, I got this thing for the F1 1986 Benneton BMW. You know, I’m a huge fan of vintage F1, and the 1986 season is just legendary. I really wanted to get a taste of what it was like to drive one of those beastly turbo-era cars.
First things first, I fired up my computer and started digging around for information about this car. I mean, it’s from 1986, so it’s not like there’s a ton of stuff readily available. But after some serious searching, I managed to find some good resources, some old magazines articles, and even a few videos of the car in action.
Armed with this knowledge, I moved on to actually trying to find the car, I had a certain simulator that I prefer, and I wanted to be able to experience the car there. Luckily I found a mod for it, that included the B186!
Setting Up The Mod
- Downloaded the mod files. I double-checked to make sure they were compatible with my sim version.
- Extracted the files to the correct folder. This was pretty straightforward.
- Launched the simulator and checked if the car was showing up in the car selection menu. It was there!
Once I got the car loaded up, I took it out for a spin on a few different tracks. Man, this thing is a handful! The turbo lag is insane, and you really have to be careful with the throttle. It’s so easy to spin out if you’re not paying attention. But when you get it right, it’s an absolute blast. The power is just incredible, and you can really feel the G-forces.
I spent hours just driving this car, trying to master it. I tweaked the setup, trying to find the right balance between speed and control. It’s definitely a challenging car to drive, but that’s what makes it so rewarding.
I also tried to recreate some of the famous races from the 1986 season. That was a lot of fun. It’s amazing to think about what those drivers had to deal with back then, with these powerful, untamed machines.
In the end, I would say that driving the F1 1986 Benneton BMW was an amazing experience. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you’re a fan of vintage F1, you should check it out. It’s a real challenge, but it’s also incredibly rewarding when you get it right. You can really get a sense of what it was like to race in that era, and it’s a pretty wild ride!
