Trying LaLiga Santander Again – The Second Attempt
Right, so this “laliga santander 2” thing. It’s not an official name, just what I’m calling my second serious shot at actually keeping up with the Spanish league. The first time? A complete mess, gave up after like, a month.

The Setup This Time
I figured, learn from mistakes. Don’t boil the ocean. Just pick one team. Maybe check scores for the big rivals. Got the app, again. Turned on alerts, again. Felt familiar, but maybe this time, right?
How It Went Down
- Tried blocking out time for one game a weekend. Usually failed. Life, you know?
- Scrolled news feeds. Mostly transfer rumors and people yelling online. Not much actual football talk that made sense to a casual.
- Checked the league table. That’s simple enough. Takes 30 seconds. Probably the most consistent thing I did.
- Watched highlight packages. Way easier. Less time, get the gist.
The Reality Check
Honestly, the late kick-offs are brutal. Midnight, 1 AM starts? Nah. Can’t do it. I got work in the morning. Tried watching replays, but knowing the score beforehand just kills it. Someone always spoils it online anyway before I get a chance.
It’s like that time I decided I was going to learn guitar during lockdown. Bought a decent one, watched a bunch of tutorials. Practiced for maybe three weeks total? Now it just collects dust in the corner. Same vibe. You have this idea, this plan, but the follow-through just crumbles when real life demands your time and energy. It’s effort, man. Real effort.
So, Where Am I Now?
Am I a dedicated follower? Nope. Not even close. I know more than I did before attempt one, sure. I can name maybe five players now instead of just two. Progress? Maybe. But it feels like homework sometimes. Maybe I’m just not cut out for following leagues in different time zones. Or maybe I’ll try a “laliga santander 3” next year when I forget how annoying this attempt was. We’ll see. For now, highlights it is.
