So, I was playing Old School RuneScape the other day, and I stumbled upon this thing called the “amulet of chemistry.” Now, I’m not exactly a hardcore player, but I do enjoy messing around with herblore when I have some spare time. It got me thinking, “Is this amulet really worth it?” So, I decided to put it to the test.

First, I gathered a bunch of supplies, you know, the usual stuff for making potions. I figured I’d start with some simple ones like attack potions or strength potions. Nothing too crazy, just to get a feel for how this amulet works. I bought a bunch of herbs and secondary ingredients from the Grand Exchange. I might have overspent a little, but hey, gotta crack a few eggs, right?
The Experiment Begins
Alright, so I equipped the amulet and started mixing potions. The amulet’s supposed to give you a 5% chance to make a 4-dose potion instead of a 3-dose one. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but over time, it could add up. I made a few batches of attack potions, keeping track of how many 4-dose potions I got. It seemed a bit random at first, like sometimes I’d get a couple of 4-dose potions in a row, and other times I’d go through a whole inventory without a single one.
- Round 1: Attack potions – Got 3 4-dose potions out of 28. Not bad.
- Round 2: Strength potions – Only 1 4-dose potion this time. Hmm.
- Round 3: Prayer potions – A whopping 5 4-dose potions! Now we’re talking!
I kept this up for a while, switching between different types of potions. It was a bit of a grind, but I was starting to see a pattern. The 5% chance seemed to be pretty accurate. Over a long enough period, I was definitely making more 4-dose potions than I would have without the amulet. I guess it helps my bank account over a large volume of potions.
My Thoughts
So, is the amulet of chemistry worth it? I’d say it depends. If you’re just making a few potions here and there, probably not. But if you’re planning on doing some serious herblore training, or if you’re making a lot of potions for profit, then yeah, it’s definitely worth considering. That extra 5% chance might seem small, but it can really add up over time, saving you a good chunk of change in the long run. It’s kind of like investing, you know? You put in a little extra effort now, and you reap the rewards later. I guess this whole thing kind of reminds me of learning about cellular respiration in high school biology – you gotta break down to build up. You use the amulet to hopefully get more out of the process!
Anyway, that’s my little experiment with the amulet of chemistry. It’s not exactly groundbreaking stuff, but I thought I’d share my findings. Maybe it’ll help some of you out there decide whether or not to get one for yourselves. It’s all about those little efficiencies, right? Like, you gotta find them where you can, especially in a game like RuneScape where every little bit counts. It’s not like back in the day when I’d spend hours mining coal, hoping to hit the jackpot with a few rune rocks, and even that’s like the whole concept of volcanoes spewing out materials and building up the land – slow and steady wins the race, I guess. At least, that’s how I see it. Alright, I’m gonna go train some herblore. Catch ya later!
