My Little Project on Capturing That Grin
Okay, so someone mentioned ‘Klopp smiling’ the other day, and it got me thinking about this weird little thing I did a while back. Wasn’t exactly earth-shattering, just a personal project, you know? I was kind of in a slump, work stuff, life stuff, the usual grind. Scrolling through my phone, probably looking for distractions.
Then I stumbled across a picture, or maybe it was a video clip, I don’t remember exactly. It was Jürgen Klopp, and he had this huge, beaming smile. You know the one. The full-on, teeth-showing, eye-crinkling grin. It wasn’t just a polite little thing; it felt massive, full of energy. It just sort of jumped out at me.
So, I got this idea. I thought, I want to capture that. Not just the look of it, but the feeling behind it. Seemed like a decent way to maybe channel some better energy myself. My first thought was drawing. I used to sketch a bit, nothing serious, but I figured I’d give it a shot.
I started hunting for reference pictures. Man, that was a rabbit hole. I spent hours searching online. News sites, fan forums, image archives. Found hundreds of pictures of Klopp smiling, of course. But getting the right one? The one that really had that specific spark I saw? That was trickier.

It gave me something positive to focus on for a bit. Trying to understand and sort of absorb that energy was kind of therapeutic, I guess.
So yeah, that was my little ‘Klopp smiling’ phase. Just a weird, personal detour. Didn’t really lead anywhere spectacular, but it was something I did, went through the motions. It’s funny the things you find yourself doing when you’re just trying to shift your mood a little.
