Getting Saddles on Pals, My Journey
So, I was running around in Palworld, right? Got myself a Nitewing, thought “Awesome, I can fly now!” Tried to jump on it. Nothing. Just stared at me. The ride option was there, but kinda grayed out. Annoying.

Spent a bit poking around menus. Looked at the Pal’s details, nothing obvious. Then I remembered the Technology tree. Scrolled through that thing, took ages, but bingo! Found stuff like ‘Nitewing Saddle’. Said I needed to be a certain level and use those tech points. Okay, fine. Went out, chopped some trees, smacked some rocks, caught more Pals. Did the grind, you know?
Got the level, unlocked the saddle tech. Felt good. But then I saw the materials list. Needed leather, cloth, ingots, those blue Paldium bits. Back out I went. Chasing Pals for leather, mining ore, smelting it down. Took a while, not gonna lie. Felt like I was running errands for my Pal.
Finally got all the bits and pieces. Headed back to my base. Had to build that Pal Gear Workbench first, another step I forgot about initially. Slapped the materials into the workbench, found the Nitewing Saddle recipe, and hit craft. Watched the little progress bar fill up. Felt like waiting for water to boil.
Okay, saddle crafted. It popped into my inventory… or did it? I looked, couldn’t see it like a piece of armor. Bit confused. Thought maybe I had to drag it onto the Pal? Nope. Then I just walked up to my Nitewing again, the one in my party. And guess what? The ‘Ride’ prompt wasn’t gray anymore! Pressed the button (F for me) and bam! Hopped right on.
Turns out, you don’t really ‘equip’ it like pants. You just make the saddle, and it kinda unlocks riding for that type of Pal forever. As long as the Pal is in your team, you make the saddle once, and you’re good to go for any Pal of that same type. Felt kinda silly afterwards for looking for an ‘equip’ button. But hey, flying around was worth the hassle. Way faster than walking everywhere.
