When you’re doing community stuff, or anything where you’re relying on volunteers and goodwill, clear records are so important. Not just for your own sanity, but to make sure people actually get the recognition they deserve. It’s easy for things to get muddled with common names, or when people sign up in a hurry.
My practical takeaway? Double-check names and contact info right at the source. Maybe even have a specific field for “Name as you’d like it to appear for credit.” Would have saved me a whole heap of trouble. That’s my Maribel Ramirez story, a simple lesson learned in a slightly complicated way.
