Alright folks, buckle up! Today I’m gonna walk you through my little adventure of creating a new character for, you guessed it, Jujutsu Kaisen. I’m no professional artist, but I had a blast doing it, and I learned a ton along the way.

It all started with an idea, like most things do, right? I was re-watching JJK and thought, “Man, it’d be cool to have a character with, like, a plant-based cursed technique.” So, I started brainstorming. What kind of plants? What could they do? How would this character fit into the JJK world?
First, I grabbed my trusty notebook (yes, I still use a physical notebook!) and just started scribbling. I wrote down a bunch of keywords: “vines,” “roots,” “poison,” “healing,” “camouflage.” You know, just throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks. After about an hour, I had a decent list to work with.
Next up, the design. Now, I can’t draw to save my life, so I went for a more conceptual approach. I used a bunch of reference images from the internet – plants, clothing styles, JJK character designs – and created a mood board. It helped me visualize the overall look and feel of my character.
Then came the tricky part: the cursed technique. I wanted something unique but also balanced within the JJK power system. After a lot of back and forth, I settled on a technique called “Arboreal Embrace.” Basically, my character can manipulate plant life to create barriers, traps, and even enhance their own physical abilities. The cool part? They can also use it to heal others, albeit at a slower rate.
I spent a good chunk of time fleshing out the details of the technique: its strengths, weaknesses, limitations. I even thought about a Domain Expansion (which I’m not gonna reveal just yet!). The key was to make it believable and not too overpowered.

After the technique, I started thinking about the character’s personality and backstory. I wanted them to be a bit of an outsider, someone who doesn’t quite fit in with the typical Jujutsu Sorcerer mold. I decided to make them introverted, thoughtful, and fiercely protective of nature.
Here’s a quick rundown of the key points:
- Concept: Plant-based Jujutsu Sorcerer
- Cursed Technique: Arboreal Embrace (manipulation of plant life)
- Personality: Introverted, thoughtful, nature-loving
- Design: Inspired by plant life and JJK aesthetics
Now, I’m not gonna lie, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. I hit a few roadblocks along the way. There were times when I felt like my character was too generic or that their technique was too similar to existing ones. But I kept at it, tweaking and refining until I was happy with the result.
What I learned:
- Brainstorming is crucial. Don’t be afraid to throw out crazy ideas.
- Reference images are your best friend. Use them!
- Balancing the power is key. Nobody likes an overpowered character.
- Don’t be afraid to iterate. Your first idea is rarely your best.
So, that’s it! My journey of creating a new JJK character. It was a fun and challenging experience, and I’m already thinking about my next project. Maybe a cursed spirit? Who knows!

Hopefully, this little write-up has inspired you to get creative and try something new. Even if you’re not an artist or writer, character creation can be a great way to exercise your imagination and have some fun.
Let me know in the comments what you think of my character concept. I’m always open to feedback!
