Okay, so I’ve been meaning to check out this Glenwood Country Club in NJ, and I finally made it happen. Here’s how it all went down.

First, I did some digging. You know, just poked around online to get a feel for the place. What kind of vibe did it have? Was it super stuffy, or more laid-back?
Getting the Lay of the Land
I looked at some pictures and tried to figure out what the dress code might be. Didn’t want to show up in jeans and a t-shirt if everyone else was in, like, full-on golf attire.
Making a Plan
Then, I checked to see if they are open to public, seems that it is a member only club, I made a phone call, I wanted to play a round of golf, so I needed to find out about tee times. Called them up, chatted with someone in the pro shop, and booked a time that worked for me and my buddy.
The Day Of
- Got up, had a solid breakfast. Gotta fuel up for 18 holes, right?
- Double-checked my bag. Clubs, balls, tees, sunscreen – the essentials.
- Drove out there. It took a bit, but the directions was pretty good.
Hitting the Course
Checked in at the pro shop, got a scorecard, and headed out to the first tee. The course was in pretty good shape. Greens were rolling nicely, fairways were decent. My game, on the other hand…well, let’s just say it was a mixed bag. Some good shots, some not-so-good shots. That’s golf, though, isn’t it?
Post-Game Wrap-Up
After we finished up, we grabbed some lunch at the clubhouse. It was a nice, I had a burger and fries, can’t go wrong, the beer was cold. Sat there for a bit, talked about the round, and relaxed.

Overall, it was a good day. The Glenwood Country Club, it is a place that I might bring some friends again.
