This year, that Sonoma Raceway, I heard it’s gonna be a big deal again. They say it’s the NASCAR thing, you know, the one with them cars going round and round, real fast. I don’t know much about it, but my grandson, he’s all excited. Says it’s the 2024 NASCAR, or something like that.
Well, they got all kinds of races, I guess. Some on them oval tracks, just going in a circle, seems kinda silly to me, but what do I know? And then they got these other ones, what do they call ’em? Road course races, where they go all twisty and turny. I reckon that’s a bit more interestin’. And then one on a street track race, I heard! They really race them cars on the street, like we drive to the grocery store? Lordy.
They say this Sonoma Raceway, it’s got some special seats. Good ones, they say. Something called the family area. Sounds nice, right? Family area, right smack dab in the middle, under that… that pole thing with the numbers. Pylon, they call it. Fancy word. Anyway, from there, you can see ’em start up again after they stop, and you can see ’em go up that hill, to turn 2, I think they said. Then you can see ’em again from turn 7 through 10. A lot of turns, these fellas do.
And get this, it’s open seating. You just plop yourself down where you like. And two tickets, just ninety bucks! From Save Mart, no less. That’s a good deal, ain’t it? Otherwise, that turn 9 terrace ain’t half bad, either. So many places to sit and watch them cars go by. But that Sonoma Raceway NASCAR 2024, that’s the big one, I hear.
Now, qualifying, that’s a word my grandson uses. It is important for Sonoma Raceway NASCAR 2024. Means how they figure out who starts where, I reckon. They changed it up a bit this year, I heard. Still got two rounds, whatever that means. But it’s different for them… them super speedway races. Except for the Daytona 500. That one’s always special, I guess. They got all these rules, it’s hard to keep up. But the important thing is them cars go fast, and it’s a big show.
Oh, and they got all these numbers, they call ’em odds. And TV times, so you know when to turn on your television box. They got all these information, this Toyota/Save Mart 350, they are calling it. I don’t know about all that. I just know it’s at Sonoma Raceway. And it’s gonna be loud.

- Lots of noise, and them cars going fast.
- That Sonoma Raceway, it’s a big place.
- They got that big screen, too, so you can see what’s happening.
- NASCAR 2024, that’s the name of it.
They even got some other races, not just the NASCAR. Something called Fanatec GT World Challenge America. Powered by AWS, they say. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds important. Guess they got all kinds of cars racing at that Sonoma Raceway. It’s a whole thing, ain’t it?
My grandson, he keeps saying this Sonoma Raceway NASCAR 2024 gonna have pace car. That’s the one that goes out in front, I think. Leads the field. I don’t know why they need another car out there, just slowing things down. But they do. They got all kinds of things going on at that Sonoma Raceway. It’s gonna be a sight to see. I tell you, that NASCAR, it’s somethin’ else.
They’re really making a big fuss about this whole Sonoma Raceway NASCAR 2024 thing. Lots of people are talking about it. I guess it’s a big deal for them race car folks. I still don’t understand why they gotta go so fast, but it sure is entertainin’ to watch.
Well, I reckon I’ve said my piece. This old lady’s gotta go tend to her garden. But you young folks, you go on and enjoy that Sonoma Raceway NASCAR 2024. It’s gonna be a hoot, I’m sure of it. Just be careful out there, and don’t get too close to them fences when them cars go by. They’re mighty fast, you know.
