Shahh, what’s all the fuss about?
Well, I keep hearin’ this word, “shahh,” everywhere. Kids these days, always jabberin’ ’bout somethin’ new. First it was this “tik-tok,” then that “you-tube,” now it’s “shahh.” Lord have mercy, it’s enough to make an old woman’s head spin.
Seems like this “shahh” thing is all about videos and such. Like that fella, Shah Rukh somethin’-somethin’, went to some football game in Dubai. Big whoop. Folks makin’ a big deal ’bout him bein’ there. Folks was takin’ pictures and videos, I reckon. Probably put it all over that “tik-tok” and “you-tube,” I guess. That’s what young’uns do these days. They always be holdin’ them shiny things and pointin’ them at stuff.
- They be callin’ it “viral,” they say.
- Like a sickness, I say. Spreads faster than gossip in a small town.
- One minute nobody’s heard of it, the next minute it’s everywhere.
Heard tell there’s even a “Viral Video Day.” Can ya believe it? A whole day dedicated to these silly videos. April somethin’-somethin’ it is. They say a video is “viral” when it gets lots and lots of looks. Like, more folks than live in our whole county, I reckon. Hundreds of thousands, they say. Millions even! I can’t even count that high!
They say some fancy “you-tube” fellas get that many looks in a day! A single day! Lordy, what are they doin’ in them videos? Dancin’ around like fools, I bet. Or makin’ faces, or singin’ silly songs. It ain’t like workin’ in the fields, that’s for sure. But I guess if folks like watchin’ it, more power to ’em.
Then there’s this other “shahh” video. Some fella named M made it, they say. On that “tik-tok” thing. Folks are watchin’ it, talkin’ ’bout it. I don’t get it, myself. Seems like just another video to me. But what do I know? I’m just an old woman.
So, what makes a “shahh” video “viral”?
Well, from what I can gather, it’s gotta get lots of looks, real fast. Like a wildfire in dry grass. They talk about gettin’ “fifty thousand looks in a few weeks.” That’s a lot of folks starin’ at a screen, I tell ya. And then they say it needs thousands of looks every day after that. It’s like folks can’t get enough of it. They be glued to them screens like flies to honey.
But to be a real big “shahh,” a real “viral” thing, it needs millions of looks in just a day or two. Millions! Can you imagine? That’s more people than I’ve ever met in my whole life. It’s like the whole world is watchin’ at the same time. How does that even happen? It’s a mystery to me, like how them airplanes stay up in the sky.
I reckon it’s all about catchin’ people’s attention.
Makin’ ’em laugh, makin’ ’em cry, makin’ ’em think. Or maybe just makin’ ’em stare. It’s a strange world, this “shahh” world. Folks gettin’ famous for silly videos. But I guess that’s just how things are these days. Times are changin’, and I’m just tryin’ to keep up. But sometimes I think it’s all just a bunch of hogwash.
Anyways, that’s what I know ’bout this “shahh” thing. Not much, I reckon. But I’m learnin’. Slowly but surely. Maybe one day I’ll even make my own “viral” video. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? Me, an old woman, bein’ a “shahh” star. Now that would be a story to tell.
But until then, I’ll just keep watchin’ from the sidelines. Shakin’ my head and chucklin’ at these young folks and their “shahh” videos. It’s a crazy world, but it’s the only one we got. So I might as well try to understand it, even if it don’t make no sense half the time. And that’s all I gotta say about that “shahh” stuff, for now anyway.
