Sentry Leaderboard 2024 Updates! (See Whos Leading the Pack This Year)

OK, let’s talk about this Sentry leaderboard thing for 2024. I wanted to see how my team was doing, you know, just get a sense of who’s fixing what and how quickly.

Sentry Leaderboard 2024 Updates! (See Whos Leading the Pack This Year)

First, I logged into our Sentry account. We use it to keep track of errors in our apps. It’s pretty handy, to be honest. After logging in, I went straight to the “Projects” section, because that’s where all our stuff is listed. You’ll probably have something similar if you’re using Sentry.

I picked the project I was interested in. We have a bunch, but this one is our main baby. Once inside the project, there’s a menu on the left. I looked for something like “Teams” or “Members” – I don’t remember the exact wording, it changes sometimes, they like to update things, I guess. Anyway, I found it and clicked on it.

Now, this is where it got interesting. There’s usually a tab or a section that shows some stats. I saw things like “Most Active Users” and “Resolved Issues.” This is basically the leaderboard stuff. It shows who’s been resolving the most issues and how active everyone’s been.

I started digging into the data. I looked at who resolved the most issues in the past month. You can usually set the time frame – week, month, year, whatever. I was curious about the recent performance, so I went with the last 30 days. It’s always a good idea to check different time frames, just to get the full picture. You know, someone might have had a slow month but overall they’re a rockstar.

Digging Deeper

  • Resolved Issues: I saw a list of names and numbers next to them. This showed how many issues each person on the team had marked as resolved.
  • Assigned Issues: I also checked who had the most issues assigned to them. This isn’t always the best metric because some issues are way harder than others, but it’s still good to know.
  • First Seen/Last Seen: This was useful too. It shows when an issue first popped up and when it was last seen. Gives you an idea of how long things have been hanging around.

I noticed one team member, let’s call him Bob, had resolved a ton of issues. Good for Bob! But then I saw another person, let’s say Alice, had fewer resolved issues but was tackling some really old, gnarly problems. That’s important too, right? Clearing out the backlog is a big deal.

I made some notes about all of this. I like to keep track of these things, helps me understand how the team’s doing. Plus, it’s useful for our one-on-ones. I can give props where they’re due and offer help where it’s needed.

Wrap Up

So yeah, that’s how I checked out the Sentry leaderboard for our project. It’s not rocket science, but it’s a good way to get a quick overview of the team’s performance. Remember, it’s not just about the numbers. It’s about understanding the context and using that information to help everyone do their best work. And, as always, give credit where it is due and be supportive of your team!
