Okay, so I’ve been needing a new riding jacket for a while now. My old one was, well, let’s just say it had seen better days. It was ripped, faded, and definitely not waterproof anymore. So, I started looking around, and the Sedici Matteo Waterproof Jacket kept popping up. The price was right, and the reviews seemed pretty good, so I figured, why not?
Getting My Hands on It
I ordered the jacket online. It arrived pretty quickly, which was a nice surprise. First impressions? It looked pretty sharp. The material felt sturdy, and it had a good weight to it – not too heavy, not too light. I’m a pretty average-sized dude, so I went with my usual size, and it fit perfectly. It’s got that sporty look, but it’s not overly flashy, which I like.
Putting It to the Test
Of course, the real test is how it performs on the road. I’ve worn it on a few rides now, in various conditions. First, the comfort factor. It’s got this removable liner, which is great for those colder mornings. When it warms up, you can just zip it out. The jacket itself has plenty of vents, so you can get some airflow going. I haven’t felt like I was suffocating in it, even on warmer days.
The adjustable features, which I appreciate. You can tighten the waist and the cuffs, so you get a snug fit. And there is the real test which is how it does in the rain. I got caught in a downpour, no joke, the kind where you can barely see two feet in front of you. And guess what? I stayed completely dry. The jacket didn’t leak at all. The waterproof zippers and the overall construction really did their job.
The Little Things
It’s the small details that make the big difference.
- There are plenty of pockets, both inside and out. Which is super handy for storing my phone, wallet, and other stuff.
- The reflective panels are a nice touch, especially for night riding. Anything that helps with visibility is a plus in my book.
Final Thoughts
Honestly, I’m super happy with this jacket. It does everything it’s supposed to do, and it does it well. It keeps me dry, it’s comfortable, and it looks good. For the price, I really don’t think you can beat it. If you’re in the market for a new waterproof riding jacket, I’d definitely recommend giving the Sedici Matteo a look. It’s become my go-to jacket, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
