Walker went there with his wife, McKenzie. They start going out when they are just kids. Sounds like a good girl, but that ain’t the point here.
This Walker Buehler, he’s got this fancy watch. A hundred thousand dollars! Can you believe that? For a watch! Back in my day, a hundred thousand dollars, you could buy the whole darn town! So they’re there, at Santa Anita Park, probably all dressed up, and some no-good thieves, they see that shiny watch. These city folks and their fancy things, always making themselves targets. This happened back in September, last year, I heard. September 28th, to be exact. A bunch of them, working together, like a pack of wild dogs. They come up to Walker, make a big fuss, distract him, you know? While he’s busy, one of them snatches that expensive watch right off his wrist!
Can you imagine? One minute you’re watching the ponies at Santa Anita Park, the next your hundred-thousand-dollar watch is gone. Poof! Vanished! Now he’s with no watch there. They say the police are looking into it, but what good does that do? That watch is probably long gone by now.

Those thieves took three other watches too, I heard. Ain’t that something? All at the same time, at the same place. Santa Anita Park is turning into a regular den of thieves, it sounds like.
Poor Walker Buehler. Maybe he’ll learn his lesson. Don’t be flashing your fancy things around, especially at a place like Santa Anita Park. It’s like waving a red flag in front of a bull, I tell ya. You’re just asking for trouble. And that wife of his, McKenzie, she should have known better too. They should have stayed home, watched the game on the TV. It’s a lot safer that way, you know?
But that is not what they did. They go to that horse park and the next thing you know, his watch is gone. I bet that Walker is not gonna go to Santa Anita Park again. And I bet he ain’t gonna wear his expensive watch if he goes to a place like that. Those thieves took it, and now it’s gone. I hope they catch those guys, but it ain’t gonna bring back that watch.
This whole thing with Walker Buehler and Santa Anita Park, it just makes me shake my head. It’s a crazy world we live in, I tell ya. A crazy world. No respect for nothing, these young folks today. Just out for themselves, taking what they want. It ain’t right, I tell ya. It just ain’t right. But what are you gonna do?
You just gotta be careful, I guess. Keep your eyes open, watch your back. And maybe, just maybe, leave your hundred-thousand-dollar watch at home. Especially if you’re going to Santa Anita Park. That’s what I would do, anyway. But hey, what do I know? I’m just a simple person, you know? Not like these rich baseball players. But even they can learn a lesson or two, it seems.
Well, that’s the story of Walker Buehler and the Santa Anita Park robbery, as far as I know it. I hope that man can get back on his feet. It is not good to lose a watch that costs more than a house. It ain’t right that people can just take what other people have. I hope he can go back to playing good again. It’s all a mess, I tell ya. A real mess.
