Riding the Buell Firebolt 2003: Is This the Right Used Motorcycle for You?

Alright, today I wanna talk about the Buell Firebolt from 2003. This thing has been on my radar for a while now, and I finally got my hands on one. I got this bike from someone. You won’t believe it, but I actually traded my old 87 SP for this bad boy, straight up!

First off, I was checking out what people were saying about this bike online. I mean, you gotta do your research, right? So, I went on this site called Cycle Insider. There were tons of reviews from folks who actually own these things. It was pretty helpful to see what real riders had to say before I committed.

I noticed that the Buell folks seem pretty loyal. They say these bikes are reliable, and probably will last longer than them. That’s a good sign!

The model I got is the XB12R. Now, this isn’t some fancy Italian bike or a super precise Japanese one. This is American muscle, all the way. They say it can hit 155 mph, I haven’t tested that yet, but it feels like it’s got the power. It’s got 92 horsepower, and the torque is just insane. It’s a four-stroke, air-cooled engine, 984cc. Man, when you twist that throttle, you really feel it!

Riding it is a whole different experience. I also looked into the XB9R model, and it seems like it has got a lot of reviews on Cycle Insider, too. The handling is just superb. It feels like it sticks to the road, no matter how hard you push it. It’s not just about speed; it’s about how it feels in the corners.

I was also looking at upgrading from my previous bike, and I have to say, the Firebolt XB12R caught my eye. The looks alone are killer. And guess what? They’re actually cheaper in my area than your regular 600cc bikes. Can you believe that?

So, here’s the thing:

  • I traded my old bike for a Buell Firebolt.
  • I researched a ton by reading reviews.
  • I found out that these bikes are known for being tough.
  • I got the XB12R, which is a beast of a machine.
  • I experienced the incredible handling firsthand.
  • I discovered that they’re a great deal, price-wise.

So far, I’m loving every minute on this bike. It’s powerful, it handles like a dream, and it looks awesome. I’ll keep you guys posted on how it goes, but for now, I’m just gonna enjoy the ride!
