Remember the undertaker on a motorcycle entrance? Looking back at when the Deadman became a biker.

Alright, let me tell you about this thing I saw the other day. It’s stuck with me, you know? I was just minding my own business, grabbing a coffee downtown. Just a regular Tuesday morning, maybe a bit grey outside.

So, I’m walking back to my car, and I hear this bike coming. Not unusual, right? Lots of motorcycles around here. But this one sounded different, kinda low rumble, not one of those screaming sport bikes. It pulls up to the light right near where I stopped on the sidewalk.

The Rider

And man, the guy riding it. He was dressed sharp. Like, really sharp. Full black suit, crisp white shirt, black tie. Even had those shiny black shoes on. But here’s the kicker – he had this serious, kinda solemn look on his face. The kind you see on… well, you know. The hat was the final piece, one of those classic black hats, maybe a Homburg or something? Looked straight out of an old movie.

He wasn’t wearing a helmet, which maybe wasn’t smart, but it completed the whole picture. Just sat there on this big, black, classic-looking motorcycle. Not a Harley chopper, more like an old Triumph or something sturdy. Polished chrome, but mostly just deep, dark black.

My Brain Trying to Catch Up

My first thought was, is this guy going to a wedding? No, wrong vibe. Too serious. Then it hit me – he looked exactly like an undertaker. Like, the director from the local funeral home. But on a motorcycle?

  • I stood there kinda frozen for a second.
  • Tried to figure out if it was some kinda movie shoot. Looked around, no cameras, no crew.
  • Maybe some kind of weird club or event? Didn’t seem likely on a Tuesday morning.
  • Just him, the bike, and that serious look.

The light turned green. He just gave a little nod, maybe to himself, I don’t know, and then rumbled off down the street. Smooth. Didn’t gun it, just rolled away nice and steady.

What Stuck With Me

It wasn’t scary or anything. Just… odd. Made me think, you know? About how we expect things to be. Undertakers drive hearses or maybe sedans. They don’t usually ride motorcycles. It kinda broke the mold in my head.

Maybe he just finished a service and this was his way of clearing his head? Or maybe this is just how he gets around? Who knows. It felt kinda human, though. Like behind the formal job, there’s just a regular person who happens to like bikes. Or maybe he was making a statement, like even in serious business, you can have your own style. Dunno.

Anyway. Just saw an undertaker on a motorcycle. It was a thing. Made my day a little less ordinary, I guess. Just wanted to jot that down.
