Okay, so I wanted to record a WhatsApp video call the other day. I tried a few things, and it was kind of a pain, but I finally figured it out. Here’s how I did it, step by step.

First, I tried to record with the built-in screen recorder. I started the call, swiped down to open the control center, and hit the record button. Easy, right? Nope. It recorded the video just fine, but there was no sound! What a bummer.
So, I went online and started digging around. I found a bunch of articles about different apps you can use to record your screen. Some of them looked pretty complicated, with a ton of settings. Some of them cost money. Some were only for Android or only for iPhone. I just wanted something simple that would work on my phone.
Using a Third-Party App
Finally, I found an app that seemed like it would work. It’s an app that records anything on your screen. I downloaded it and installed it. Then, I opened the app and messed with the settings a little bit.
Here’s what I did in the settings:
- Enabled the microphone so it would record the audio.
- Set the video quality to high. It defaults to medium, but I figured higher is better, right?
- Picked the location where it would save the recordings.
Then I started another WhatsApp video call, and this time, I opened the recording app and hit the record button. I could see a little icon on my screen that showed it was recording, which was cool. I talked for a while, just to test it out. When the call was over, I stopped the recording in the app.

I opened up my gallery, and there it was! The video was there, and it had sound! Success! It recorded everything perfectly.
So, yeah, that’s how I finally managed to record a WhatsApp video call. It took a bit of trial and error, but it wasn’t that hard in the end. If you need to record a call, I hope this helps you out!
