Play Elkhorn Golf Sun Valley: A Simple Golfers Review!

Okay, here’s my blog post about my day playing Elkhorn Golf in Sun Valley, written in a casual, first-person style, and using basic HTML tags for formatting:

So, I finally got around to playing Elkhorn Golf Club in Sun Valley. I’d heard good things, and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. The whole thing started with me just wanting to get out and hit some balls.

First, I looked it up. Found their number, and gave them a call to book a tee time. I snagged a slot for early afternoon – perfect! No rush, you know?

When I got there, the first thing I did was check in at the pro shop. Simple, straightforward, paid the green fees, and grabbed a scorecard. I like to keep track, even if my score isn’t always pretty.

Next, I headed to the driving range to warm up. I brought my clubs, my tees and my glooves. Started with some easy swings, you know, just loosening up. Irons first, then worked my way up to the driver. Felt good, felt ready.

The Course Itself:

The course was in fantastic shape. Seriously, the fairways were like carpets, and the greens were rolling true. I mean, really true, the ball went exactly where I was aiming (when I hit it right, of course!).

  • Hole 1: Started with a solid par. Nice way to kick things off.
  • Hole 5: This one got me. A tricky dogleg left, and I ended up in the rough. Bogey.
  • Hole 9: Finished the front nine with a birdie! Felt like a pro for, like, five minutes.
  • Hole 14 The tee box was very close to the residential area, I sliced, and put a hole in some poor guys window.
  • Hole 18: Ended the round strong, another par.

I played solo, but I always find that to be a relaxing way to do it. You go at your own pace, no pressure, and you can really focus on your game (or, in my case, try to focus!). It was good exercise and I got to spend a lot of time outdoors.

Overall Thoughts

Would I go back? Absolutely. It was a great experience. The course was challenging but fair, the views were amazing, and the whole vibe was just… relaxed. If you’re in Sun Valley and looking for a good round of golf, I definitely recommend checking out Elkhorn.

The course challenged me in places but I was very proud of my performance. I do not think I will be going back in the near future after the incident on the 14th tee box.
