This year, them Orioles, they’re somethin’ else. I always listen to their games, rain or shine. Gotta know how my boys are doin’, you know? Sometimes that radio, it’s a little fuzzy, but I get by. I hear them Orioles playin’ on the radio. It is good.
Hearin’ the Orioles
So, you wanna hear them Orioles, huh? Well, it ain’t that hard. You just gotta know where to tune that radio dial. They got that radio station, 1090 AM, or somethin’ like that. That’s where they always are. They say it is the best. 1090, that’s the one. But my radio, it’s old, so sometimes I gotta fiddle with it a bit.
They play all them games on there. All 162, they say. I don’t know what that means, but it’s a lot of games. They even got them trainin’ games in the spring. I like them the best, everyone’s fresh and full of beans. That’s when you can hear the young’uns tryin’ to make a name for themselves. It’s excitin’ stuff, I tell ya.
That 98 Rock
Now, if you got one of them fancy radios, you can get ’em on 98 Rock too. 97.9, I think it is. My old radio can’t get that, but my neighbor, she’s got one of them new ones, and she listens on there. Says it’s clearer. I don’t know about all that. I like my old radio just fine.

They got all sorts of stuff about the Orioles on that radio. Not just the games, but other things too. They talk about the players, who’s doin’ good, who’s in a slump. I like hearin’ all that. Makes you feel like you’re right there with ’em, in the dugout.
That WBAL Place
They say WBAL, that’s the big one. The flagship, they call it. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds important. That’s where all the Orioles stuff starts, I guess. Like the mama bird feedin’ her babies. That WBAL, she feeds all them other stations with the Orioles news.
Listenin’ Online
Now, some folks, they don’t even use a radio no more. They listen on them computers. Online, they call it. I don’t understand it, but my grandson, he showed me once. He pulled up the Orioles game right there on his computer. It’s like magic, I swear.
He says you can listen to any game, anytime, on that thing. I guess that’s good for folks who are busy. But me, I like the radio. It’s always been there for me, and I ain’t changin’ now.
There are many ways to listen to them Orioles game online. You can find the Orioles Radio Network. I don’t know much about the computer, but that is what my grandson told me. He showed me once how to do it. But it is too complicated. The old radio is fine for me. It does not break down like those computers.
The Old Days of Radio
Back in my day, radio was the only way to follow them games. We’d all gather ’round the radio, the whole family. You could hear the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, it was like bein’ right there at the ballpark. I remember them hot summer nights. Everyone is happy to listen to the Orioles games.
ESPN 630 is Good Too
Now that ESPN 630, they got the Orioles too. I heard that’s down in Washington. I ain’t never been to Washington, but I guess they like the Orioles down there too. Baseball’s a good game. Everyone should hear the Orioles. They are the best team.
They say you can hear a lot of Orioles on that ESPN 630. They got all the games and some other talks. The peoples down in Washington, they are lucky to hear the Orioles. I think they play good baseball. They try hard. I like to listen to them. It makes me happy.
