Alright, so I needed to check the score for the Pelicans and Heat game the other night. Wasn’t watching it live, had other stuff going on, you know how it is.

First thing, grabbed my phone. My usual sports app, the one I actually pay for? Yeah, it decided to be super slow. Just spinning and spinning. Useless. Why do I even pay for this thing? Seriously thinking about canceling it.
So, okay, plan B. Went to that other free score app. Bam! Full-screen ad right away. Closed that. Then another banner ad popped up covering half the screen. Tried to find the NBA scores, tapped it, and boom, another ad. Gave up on that one pretty quick. Too much hassle.
Finding the Score, Eventually
I was actually supposed to be fixing the leaky faucet in the bathroom. Promised I’d do it ages ago. But I really wanted to see if the Pelicans were covering the spread, had a small bet with a buddy. Nothing major, just bragging rights mostly.
So, back to the phone. Just opened the browser this time. Typed in “pelicans heat score”. Simple enough, right?
- First result looked okay, clicked it.
- Site loaded kinda slow, probably ’cause my Wi-Fi is dodgy in the back room.
- Finally, the score popped up. Heat were up by a few points in the third quarter.
Took way longer than it should have. All these fancy apps and websites, sometimes just a plain old search is faster. It’s weird. You’d think getting a simple game score would be instant these days, but nope. Always some kind of runaround.

Anyway, found the score. Pelicans were looking okay, but down. Ended up losing the bet, but whatever. At least I finally got the score. Now, about that faucet… maybe tomorrow.
