Okay, so the other day I was looking for a new golf course to try out, somewhere I hadn’t been before. I’d heard some good things about Mission del Lago in San Antonio, TX, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First thing I did was check the weather. No point in driving all the way out there if it’s going to be pouring rain or something. Luckily, it was looking pretty good – sunny with a slight breeze. Perfect golfing weather!
Next, I looked up the course details. Wanted to get a feel for the layout, see if there were any tricky water hazards or anything like that. I also checked out some reviews online, just to see what other people were saying about it. Most of the reviews were positive, so that was a good sign.
Then, because I’m cheap,I went to search any deals. Nothing wrong,right? I didn’t find any deals,That’s all right.
After that, it was time to book a tee time. I usually prefer to play in the morning, before it gets too hot, so I aimed for something around 9 or 10 am. Called them up, and luckily they had a spot open at 9:30. Perfect!
The day of, I made sure to pack everything I needed – clubs, balls, tees, sunscreen, hat, the whole nine yards. Don’t want to get out on the course and realize you’ve forgotten something important.
The drive out there was pretty straightforward. I just followed the directions, and it was easy to find. When I got there, I checked in at the pro shop, grabbed a scorecard, and headed out to the first tee.
The course itself was in pretty good shape. The fairways were well-maintained, and the greens were rolling nicely. It was definitely challenging, with some strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, but it was also a lot of fun to play.
I played okay, not my best round, but not my worst either. Managed to hit some good shots, made a few putts, and overall just enjoyed being out there on the course.
After the round, I stopped by the clubhouse for a quick drink and a bite to eat. Just a little something to refuel after all that walking and swinging.
All in all, it was a great day. Mission del Lago is a solid course, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to play in San Antonio. I’ll probably be back there again sometime soon.
