My Mets Bark in the Park Obsession Begins
So, I’m scrolling through Mets stuff online this morning, coffee in hand, and bam – I spot that “Bark in the Park” event mentioned. It just sounds too good, right? Taking your doggo to the ballgame. My dog, Bella, a total goofball golden retriever, would lose her fluffy mind over this. Immediately knew I had to figure this thing out.

The Great Schedule Hunt
First thing I did? Obviously, typed something like “mets bark in the park 2024 dates” into the search bar. Simple enough. Expected a clear answer straight up. Wrong! What I got felt like jumping into a maze.
- First stop was the main Mets site. Navigated everywhere, clicking like crazy. Team news? Check. Ticket promos? Tons. But the actual dog night schedule? Nada. Just found some old pages from years back. Useless.
- Next try: Bigger baseball sites. Bleacher Report? *? They had fluff pieces about Bark in the Park events in general, talking about how fun they are… but zero concrete dates for my Mets. Seriously? Just tell me when!
- Got desperate and even peeked at fan forums. You know, the places where people argue about the lineup. Found a few hopeful comments like “hope they do it again this year!” or “my dog loved it last time!” Thanks, folks, super helpful. Still no dates.
This whole search ate up way more coffee than I planned. My focus was shot. Bella was staring, probably wondering why I wasn’t throwing her ball yet.
A Glimmer of Hope (Kinda)
Finally, FINALLY, deep within some obscure corner of the Mets promotions page – and I mean, I had to click past deals for cheap hot dogs and bobbleheads – I spotted a tiny section labeled “Season Events”. My heart did a little jump. Scrolled down… past Star Wars Night, past Teacher Appreciation… and there it was! One little line:
“Bark in the Park: Details Coming Soon!”

“Details Coming Soon”? That’s it? After all that clicking? Major letdown. Felt like finding the prize box… and it’s empty. Bella chose that moment to bark at a squirrel outside. Perfect timing.
What I DID Manage to Scrape Up
Since the actual date was still playing hide-and-seek, I shifted gears. Started gathering scraps of info for whenever this mythical date appears:
- Tickets: Looks like you need a special “Bark in the Park” ticket for both you AND your dog. Probably can’t just waltz in with Fido using your regular season ticket.
- Dog Rules: Leashed and well-behaved at all times? Obviously. Up-to-date vaccines? Makes sense. Size restrictions? Some dog nights have them, others don’t – but no specifics here yet. Classic.
- Dog Seating: Heard they usually stick folks with dogs in a specific section. Imagine hundreds of excited pups in one place! Hope it’s near the bathroom… for them, mostly.
The Plan (or Lack Thereof)
Current status: Annoyed but determined. The Mets website has an email newsletter sign-up buried somewhere. Did that. Hopefully, I’ll get a ping when they decide “soon” actually means a date. Also bookmarked that promotions page. Checking it daily? Maybe. Probably.
The real kicker? After all that frantic searching, Bella got restless. So guess what I did instead? Took her down to the local park myself. Threw the ball ’till my arm felt like jelly. She loved it. Zero website frustration involved.
Takeaway: The idea of Bark in the Park is awesome. The reality of finding the dang schedule feels like decoding ancient hieroglyphs. The Mets need to work on their “coming soon” game. Big time.
