Finding Those Sneaky Traders
So, been playing Palworld heavy lately, trying to build up my base. Needed specific stuff, like better guns and those sweet Pal Spheres. Figured buying some could be faster than grinding, right? Knew merchants existed somewhere ’cause I’d seen empty stalls before. Problem is, those guys ain’t always home.

Started out just wandering around, hitting the usual spots people talked about. That first island, Windswept Hills? Found a spot near the Ravine Entrance fast travel point. Easy. Camp with a dude just kinda… stands there.
What’d I find?
- Archie: This guy sells basic construction blocks, medicine basics, some seeds. Good starter stuff if you’re just getting your base foundations down.
- The Black Marketeer (Found later!): Took ages! Was hunting Woolipops near the Fort Ruins entrance, totally by accident. This shady dude popped up near the tower ruins. Sold ammo for shotguns & assault rifles, freakin’ missiles (!), illegal armor parts, and Pal Spheres – Mega and Giga ones! Felt like hitting the jackpot, almost bought everything.
Almost rage-quit trying to find one near the Fortress City up north. Kept checking the ruins outside, nothing. Finally caved and wandered into the city itself. Boom, market square hidden inside. Two new faces.
City Merchants Had Better Stuff
- Pal Merchant: Want eggs? Fossils? Actual Pals? This person sells captured Pals! Useful if you need specific types for your base work or just want a collection. Prices are steep though.
- General Merchant: Felt like a proper shop. Ammo (pistol/rifle), basic Pal Spheres, arrows, repair kits. Not as exciting as the black market, but way more reliable to find.
Takeaways & Annoyances
Biggest headache? Them merchants ain’t always there. Seriously. Sometimes you sprint to a spot, expecting to buy ammo, and it’s just… dust. Empty stall vibes. Takes maybe a day (in-game) cycle for ’em to respawn, feels random. Sucks when you gots cash and really need something specific.

Their inventory also varies? Kinda? Like, Archie always had basics, but the city folks seemed to rotate eggs and which Pals they had captured day-to-day. Reminds me of that shady convenience store near my old apartment – never knew what you’d find.
Why bother then? Because sometimes, that random Black Marketeer appearing saves your butt. Found the shotgun ammo right before tackling a nasty Syndicate base. Or finding that one specific egg you spent hours hunting. Worth the hassle? Mostly yes, especially late game when you gots Pals mining ore non-stop and drowning in cash. Early on? Maybe just grind it out, finding ’em reliably is a pain.
My advice? Mark their spawn points ASAP. Know where to check every in-game morning. Save before going shopping in case you wanna reroll their stock (if that even works? Not sure). And never, ever rely on them being there when you’re desperate. Always got a Plan B.
