Alright, so today I wanna share my experience with something kinda cool I was messing around with recently: trying to figure out some stuff about Max Holloway’s hometown. It started with just a random thought, ya know?
So, first things first, I did what anyone would do – I Googled “Max Holloway hometown.” Simple enough, right? Saw a bunch of articles and wiki pages pop up, mostly talking about Waianae, Hawaii. Cool, but I wanted to dig a little deeper.
Next, I jumped over to Google Maps. I wanted to see Waianae for myself, virtually of course. Poked around, checked out the streets, the beaches, the general vibe. You could kinda feel the small-town feel, which was what I was after. Seeing the actual place gives you a better context, I think.
Then, I started looking for local news articles. Stuff that maybe wasn’t getting picked up by the big sports outlets. I figured local sources might have some interesting tidbits about how the community sees him, you know, that hometown pride stuff. It took a little digging, but I found a few articles talking about his visits back home and community events he was involved in.
After that, I tried to see if there were any interviews or features specifically focusing on his connection to Waianae. Found a couple where he talked about growing up there, how it shaped him, and why he always comes back. Hearing it straight from him made it feel way more real.
Finally, I thought it would be cool to see if there were any public records or local government websites mentioning him, maybe honoring him in some way. Surprisingly, found a proclamation from the local government congratulating him on a big win. Pretty neat!

Basically, I just pieced together info from different sources to get a better understanding of his roots. It wasn’t anything crazy, just a fun little project to learn more about the guy and where he comes from. It’s always interesting to see how a person’s background influences who they become.
