Okay so today I tried messing with that F1 fan vote thing where you pick the best overtake after each race. Figured it’d be simple but nah.

First Attempt – Total Confusion
Clicked around the Formula 1 site looking for the vote button forever. Felt like doing laps in the damn dark. Finally found some tiny text saying “Fan Vote” buried under race results. Why they hide it like stolen tires?
Tapped through and bam – five clips popped up. All grainy and loading like 1980s VHS tapes. Could barely see which car was which. Forgot to check driver names too. Just randomly tapped Verstappen’s move cause his orange car stood out most. Realized later Hamilton was in clip 3. Total guesswork.
Second Try – The Smartphone Disaster
Next day pulled out my phone during lunch break thinking “mobile version will be easier”. Wrong! That vote page looked like a crashed car:
- The vote buttons covered half the clip
- Kept accidentally tapping ads popping up
- Got logged out twice mid-scroll
Scrolled too fast once and voted for Stroll’s boring pass by mistake. Couldn’t even undo it. Felt like throwing my phone at the wall.
The Desktop Fix
After work sat down with proper laptop. Made coffee first – smart move. Finally saw the whole page properly. Noticed two things immediately:

- They list drivers in tiny white text UNDER each clip
- You can replay each move exactly once before vote locks
Watched Russell’s Brazil move three times properly. Saw how he squeezed past on the inside when the other guy braked early. Voted for that one feeling like I cracked some secret code.
Big lesson? This vote thing only works when you:
- Use big screen
- Pause before voting
- Actually read the driver names
Still dumb they make it so hard to find. Maybe F1 thinks we’re all pit crew engineers with eagle eyes. Newsflash – we’re just fans eating chips on the couch.
