Okay, so I wanted to watch the Super Bowl, but I didn’t want to pay a dime. First, I grabbed my laptop and started searching for free options. Gotta be smart about these things, you know?

The First Try: Antenna
I remembered my parents used to have an antenna for their old TV. So, I thought, “Maybe I can just get the game over the air?” I checked my attic, after finding it, I tried to hook the antenna up to my TV. Fiddled with it for a good 20 minutes, trying to get a decent signal. No luck.
Second Attempt: Streaming Sites
Next, I tried to see if I could just stream it online for free. I Googled a few different streaming options, and it looks a little sketchy. Finally, I found a few places that seemed okay, but the picture was all fuzzy, and I saw a strange pop-up. I have a bad experience in this way, so I closed this way before I got some kind of virus.
Third Time’s the Charm: Free Trials
Then I remembered! Lots of streaming services offer free trials. That’s the ticket! I looked up some of the major services that were showing the Super Bowl, and boom, a bunch of them had 7-day free trials.
- Checked the terms and conditions – gotta make sure I wouldn’t get charged if I forgot to cancel.
- Signed up for one that looked good. Input my email and, yeah, had to put in my credit card info, but set a reminder on my phone to cancel before the trial ended.
- Downloaded the app on my TV.
And that was it! I got to watch the Super Bowl, crystal-clear picture, no annoying pop-ups. Just remembered to cancel that subscription a few days later, and I was golden. Watched the whole thing, didn’t pay a cent. Success!
