So, I was just scrolling online the other day, not really looking for anything, just killing time, you know? And then this thing pops up: a listing for a “2010 T-Rex for sale.” Man, that just kinda stopped me. Took me way back.

I remember when those crazy machines first started showing up, or at least when I really noticed ’em. Wild-looking things, weren’t they? Like something straight out of a sci-fi flick. They call ’em ‘autocycles’ now, apparently that’s the official term some places use. I even looked it up, and the new ones, like a T-Rex 16S, they start at like $57,999. Fifty-seven grand! Whew. That’s serious cash for a toy.
Thinking Back to Simpler Times… Or So I Thought
Anyway, seeing that 2010 model, it got me thinking about that whole period in my life. Back then, I was working this job, felt like I was finally getting somewhere. Making okay money, had a bit of a plan, you know? I definitely wasn’t thinking I could afford a T-Rex, even then they were pricey, but the idea of getting something fun, something a bit out there, was definitely buzzing in my head.
I had this idea, like, “Yeah, I’ll save up, get a cool bike, or maybe one of those sporty little cars.” The T-Rex was like the ultimate fantasy version of that. Something totally impractical but awesome.
But then, life did its thing. Bam! The company I was with decided to do some “restructuring.” That’s the polite word for it, right? One day I’m dreaming about horsepower and open roads, the next, I’m packing up my desk. Just like that. No warning, just “thanks for your service.”
Suddenly, all those plans, all those little dreams about fun toys? Poof. Gone. Had to switch gears real fast. Forget weekend fun machines; I was all about finding a new gig, making sure rent was paid. Funny how quickly your priorities can get smacked into place.

So, that T-Rex idea, or anything like it, just got buried. Deep. For a long, long time. You just gotta do what you gotta do, right?
Seeing that old 2010 T-Rex for sale, it was just a weird reminder. Not so much about the vehicle itself, though they still look pretty nuts. More about that time, how things can change in a heartbeat. Makes you think. Maybe it’s for the best I never got one. Probably a nightmare to find parts for, or a mechanic who knows what to do with it. And where do you even park that thing without worrying about it constantly?
Still, it’s strange what an old online ad can dredge up from your memory banks. Just a random “2010 T-Rex for sale,” and suddenly I’m reliving a whole chapter. Life’s a trip, eh?
