Today, I gotta tell you about this crazy thing I tried to do. I wanted to see if I could get two LLMs, like these smart computer programs, to go head-to-head. The idea was to have one, which I called “Lion A,” try to act like a lion and the other, “Lion B,” also be a lion. I figured it would be a fun experiment to see how they would interact and if one could outsmart the other.
So, I started by setting up these two LLMs. I went in and gave them some basic instructions. For Lion A, I was like, “Okay, you’re a fierce lion, king of the jungle, and you gotta be all aggressive and dominant.” Then for Lion B, I gave it similar instructions, “You’re also a powerful lion, and you’re not gonna let anyone push you around.” I was trying to create this scenario where they would clash, just like in the wild.
First, I had to teach them some basic lion stuff. I fed them a bunch of information about how lions behave, you know, like how they roar, how they hunt, and how they defend their territory. I used a lot of articles and videos I found just by Googling around. It was kinda messy, just throwing information at them and hoping they’d pick it up.
I started with simple interactions. I’d type in a prompt, like, “Lion A sees Lion B approaching.” Then I’d watch what they came up with. At first, it was pretty basic. Lion A would be like, “I roar loudly to show I’m the boss.” And Lion B would respond with something like, “I stand my ground and roar back.” It wasn’t super exciting, but it was a start.
Then, I decided to spice things up a bit. I started creating more complex scenarios. I’d tell them, “Lion A is hungry and sees Lion B with a fresh kill.” This is where things got interesting. Lion A started coming up with strategies to steal the kill, like trying to distract Lion B or intimidate it. And Lion B would react by defending its food, sometimes aggressively, sometimes by trying to hide it. It was like watching a nature documentary, but way more unpredictable because these were just computer programs making stuff up.
I tried to make it more intense. I added things like, “There’s a drought, and both lions are desperate for water.” This made them even more competitive. They started coming up with plans to outsmart each other, like one would pretend to leave the area and then sneak back in when the other wasn’t looking. It was wild to see how creative they could get with just a few prompts.

Here are some of the interactions that really stood out:
- Scenario 1:
- Prompt: “Lion A sees Lion B in its territory.”
- Lion A: “I charge at Lion B, roaring loudly.”
- Lion B: “I stand my ground and roar back, ready to fight.”
- Scenario 2:
- Prompt: “Lion A is trying to steal Lion B’s food.”
- Lion A: “I create a distraction by running around and making noise.”
- Lion B: “I keep a close eye on my food and growl menacingly.”
- Scenario 3:
- Prompt: “Both lions are thirsty and find a small puddle.”
- Lion A: “I try to get to the water first, pushing Lion B away.”
- Lion B: “I fight back, knowing I need the water to survive.”
I kept messing around with the settings, tweaking their “personalities” to see what would happen. I made one more aggressive, the other more cunning. It was like a constant battle to see which one would come out on top. Sometimes one would dominate, other times they’d reach a stalemate. It was never the same twice.
After a few days of this, I realized that these LLMs could generate some pretty convincing interactions. They weren’t perfect, but they were definitely getting better at acting like lions. I learned a lot about how to prompt them effectively and how to push them to be more creative. It was a wild ride, and I was pretty stoked with the results.
So, yeah, that’s my story about trying to make two AI lions fight each other. It was a fun experiment, and it showed me that these tools are capable of a lot more than I thought. I’m definitely going to keep playing around with this stuff and see what else I can come up with. Maybe next time I’ll try something even crazier, who knows?
If you guys have any ideas or suggestions, let me know in the comments. I’m always up for a new challenge!
