Okay, so I’ve been seeing this name, Linnea Strom, popping up all over my golf feeds lately. I figured, who is this person? Time to do some digging and, more importantly, see if I can learn anything from her swing.

The Deep Dive Begins
First things first, I gotta find some videos. I spent a good hour just scrolling, you know how it is. It’s easy to get lost, jumping from one video to the next. Watched some tournament highlights, some slow-motion swing breakdowns – the whole nine yards.
Breaking Down the Swing
Alright, after watching a ton of footage, a few things really stood out about Linnea’s swing:
- That setup: Super balanced. She looks so athletic and ready to pounce on the ball. I tend to get a little lazy with my setup, so that’s something I’m definitely gonna work on.
- The takeaway: It’s so smooth and wide. She creates this huge arc, which I’m guessing helps with power. My takeaway can get a bit jerky, so I need to focus on making it one fluid motion.
- The wrist action at impact. It is pretty solid. I’ll try to practice that.
- The finish: She holds that pose like a statue! Total control and balance. I’m usually halfway to falling over by the time I finish my swing.
Putting it into Practice (and Failing a Bit)
So, armed with my newfound knowledge (or at least, observations), I headed to the range. Let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty at first. Trying to change your swing, even small things, feels SO awkward.
I spent a good hour just working on my setup, trying to get that balanced, athletic feel. Then I moved on to the takeaway, focusing on keeping it smooth and wide. I shanked a few, topped a few, but every now and then, I felt that solid contact. Baby steps, right?
It felt really strange trying to emulate her wrist action at impact. It felt like i need more practice.

The Long Road Ahead
Okay, I’m not gonna lie, I’m not suddenly hitting the ball like Linnea Strom. But, I definitely feel like I’ve got a few things to work on. It’s gonna take time, practice, and probably a whole lot more shanks and topped shots. But hey, that’s golf, right? It’s a constant learning process.
I’ll keep watching her videos, keep practicing, and hopefully, I’ll start seeing some improvement. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll even hold my finish like a pro!
