Some were okay, lots of ads, kinda annoying. Found a couple of forums eventually. Man, talk about opinions! Everyone’s an expert, everyone’s got a ‘source’.
It became a bit of a routine:

- Maybe browse those forums in the evening, see what the die-hards are yelling about.

You learn pretty quick to take everything with a grain of salt. Especially during the off-season or near the trade deadline. Rumors fly like crazy. Someone says this guy is demanding a trade, another says the team is targeting that player. Most of it turns out to be nothing.
So, I developed a sort of filter. Who usually gets things right? Which reporters seem to have actual connections versus just throwing stuff at the wall? It’s not perfect, but it helps cut down the noise. You start ignoring the accounts that are always wrong or just drumming up drama.
My Process Now
Nowadays, it’s pretty streamlined. I’ve got a few specific places I check regularly. Not official team stuff, usually, more like dedicated writers or communities I’ve come to trust, relatively speaking. Still check the scores, obviously. Still scan the headlines.
I spend less time on the wild speculation now, unless I’m really bored. Focus more on post-game analysis, injury updates, draft profiles when that time comes around. It’s more about understanding the team’s direction, less about the day-to-day gossip.
It’s funny, it started as just a way to kill time, follow a friend’s interest. Now, it’s just part of my daily information flow. Keeps the brain working, I guess. And it’s always interesting to see how things play out over a season. You watch the whole story unfold, bit by bit. Still mostly noise, maybe, but it’s my noise now.
