Alright, so today I wanna chat about this little project I messed around with – the “luka lakers” thing. It was a fun dive, lemme tell ya.

It all started with me just kinda being bored, you know? I was scrolling through some basketball highlights (huge fan, obviously), and Luka’s name popped up, then Lakers…and my brain just went “ding!” Like, what if I could do something fun with those two together?
First thing I did was, like, Google. I wanted to see if anyone else had already done something super cool with the idea. Found some fan art, some forum discussions, but nothing that really scratched the itch I had. So, I was like, “Alright, time to get my hands dirty.”
I decided to keep it simple to start. I figured, “Okay, let’s try and mash up their jerseys.” I grabbed some pics of Luka’s Mavs jersey and a Lakers one. Started messing around in Photoshop. Tried a bunch of different things. At first, I was trying to like, perfectly blend them, but it looked kinda…meh.
Then I thought, “Screw it, let’s go bold!” I tried a split design, half Luka’s jersey, half Lakers. That looked way cooler. I spent a good hour just tweaking the colors, making sure they didn’t clash too hard. Yellow and blue, you know, can be tricky.
After the jersey thing, I was feeling kinda hyped. I wanted to do something more. I started thinking about logos. What if I could combine Luka’s logo with the Lakers’ iconic basketball logo? That sounded fun, right?

This was a bit tougher. I messed around with a bunch of different ideas. I tried just slapping Luka’s logo on the basketball, but it looked kinda lazy. Then I tried incorporating Luka’s initials into the basketball’s design. That was getting closer.
Finally, I had this idea to use Luka’s number “77” and kinda weave it into the Lakers logo. It took a lot of fiddling, resizing, and rotating, but eventually, I got something that looked pretty decent. It was still rough around the edges, but I was happy with the direction.
The whole process was just me messing around, experimenting, and straight-up failing a bunch of times. But that’s the fun of it, right? You keep trying different things until something clicks. I didn’t end up with some crazy masterpiece, but I learned a lot, had a good time, and scratched that creative itch.
I might revisit this project later and try some other stuff. Maybe I’ll even try animating something. Who knows? But for now, I’m calling it a win. I started with a random thought and ended up with a fun little project that kept me entertained for a few hours.
