Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here horse, Just A Touch. Folks keep jabberin’ on about him, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, ya know?

Just A Touch, what a name, sounds fancy, don’t it? But don’t let that fool ya. This here horse, he’s a young’un, just three years old, they say. Born in 2021, that makes him a spring chicken in horse years, I reckon.
Now, they’re sayin’ he’s from America, that United States place. And this fella, B. Cox, he’s the one trainin’ him. Must be doin’ somethin’ right, ’cause people keep talkin’ ’bout this Just A Touch.
- Age: Just 3 years old, born in 2021.
- From: The United States of America.
- Trainer: That fella B. Cox.
They tell me he’s raced a few times, four times to be exact. Won one of ’em. That win, they say it was a big deal, somethin’ called the “Fair Grounds,” and the prize money was a whole heap of dollars, like thirty-six thousand and some change. That’s a lot of hay, I tell ya!
Folks who know about these things, they got numbers they use, “Brisnet Speed figures” they call ’em. Just A Touch, he’s got some good numbers, 97, 97, and even a 100. Sounds like he’s a fast one, that’s for sure.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but they say this horse has got good “pedigree.” That means his mama and papa were good horses too, I guess. Like good families, ya know? Some folks are just born with good genes, horses too, seems like.

They also talk about “odds.” For Just A Touch, they were sayin’ 10-1. Now, I ain’t a bettin’ woman, but I hear that means he’s got a good chance of winnin’, but not a sure thing. Nothin’s ever a sure thing in life, is it?
This horse, he’s a bay colt, they say. That just means he’s a certain color, brownish red, kinda like my old rooster back on the farm. He’s got a “stable,” too. That’s where he lives, I figure. Fancy folks callin’ it a “stable,” I just call it a barn.
And there’s this website, Equibase somethin’-or-other. They got all the info on horse racin’. Results, when the races are, and all that jazz. Guess that’s where these folks get all their fancy numbers and such.
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout trainin’ horses. They say ya gotta be careful, ’cause horses are big and they can get spooked easy. Safety first, they say. Makes sense, ya don’t wanna get kicked by one of them fellas, that’s for sure.
They say ya gotta reward the horse when it does somethin’ good. Like if the horse usually wants to eat grass, but one day he just walks right into the barn with ya, ya gotta give him some attention, let him know he did good. Makes sense, same with kids, ya know? Praise ’em when they’re good, and they’ll keep doin’ good things… most of the time, anyways.

So, this Just A Touch, he seems like a good horse. Young, fast, got good parents. But racin’ is racin’, ya never know what’s gonna happen. One day you’re winnin’, the next day you’re eatin’ dust. That’s just how it is, life and horses, they ain’t so different when ya think about it.
I reckon we’ll be hearin’ more about Just A Touch. He’s a horse to watch, they say. And I’ll be keepin’ an ear out, ya know, seein’ if this young’un makes a name for himself. It’s always somethin’ to see a young’un do good, whether it’s a horse or a person. Makes ya feel hopeful, ya know?
So, that’s all I got to say about Just A Touch. He’s a horse, he runs fast, and folks seem to like him. And that’s all there is to it, as far as I’m concerned.
